Scope

It is our pleasure to present the Proceedings of the 2nd ISCBI 2014 to the authors and delegates at the Symposium, and to the future readers interested in advances of computational and business intelligence. The Proceedings includes the research efforts by colleagues at premiere institutions and provide publicity for their outcomes. The review, shortlisting and rigorous selection procedure have ensured the quality of presented research findings. The ISCBI 2014 is the flagship event of the International Neural Network Society (INNS) India Regional Chapter. The 1st ISCBI was held in 2013. Its success and the keen interest it generated had encouraged us to transform it into an annual event. We plan for coordinating the next instalments of the Symposium in different countries and set it up as a global event. Business Intelligence (BI) has enormous potential and will facilitate the next step in the continuous evolution of the global information society. The capability of a deep understanding and intelligent application of knowledge abstracted from a plethora of information sources of different types, would unlock the full potential of BI. Hence there is a burning need for BI and Computational Intelligence (CI) professionals to work together. The ISCBI is coordinated as the platform for bringing the two research communities together. Of course, BI is not the only one and there are numerous other application areas of CI, which calls for continuous investigation. ISCBI intends to address those too. We believe the participants will find the discussions fruitful, and will enjoy the networking opportunity for setting up future collaborations. The ISCBI has been promoted mostly within the academic community. The future ISCBIs will further approach proactively and bring industry professionals under the Symposium umbrella. SJR

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

This indicator counts the number of citations received by documents from a journal and divides them by the total number of documents published in that journal. The chart shows the evolution of the average number of times documents published in a journal in the past two, three and four years have been cited in the current year. The two years line is equivalent to journal impact factor ™ (Thomson Reuters) metric.
