On behalf of the Organizing Committee, the Steering Committee, and the Technical Programming Committee of the 5th IEEE International Conference Cloud Networking (CloudNet 2016), it is our pleasure to present the proceedings of CloudNet 2016. Held during October 3 – 5, 2016 in Pisa, Italy, this conference attracted papers submissions in two phases of submissions through an open call. In the first phase, the papers were submitted to the regular paper track; in the second phase, the papers were submitted to call for papers to eleven special sessions tracks. A rigorous review process included each paper being reviewed by three or more reviewers for paper submissions. For the regular papers submitted, the Technical Program Committee accepted 26 papers as full -papers out of 53 full papers submissions for an acceptance rate of 49%. From the papers that did not meet the standard for full papers (i.e., 27 papers) as well as 3 papers submitted directly as short papers, 7 papers were accepted as short papers. For the SS tracks, altogether 15 full papers were received; of these, 6 were accepted as full papers for an acceptance rate of 40%. From the papers that did not meet the standard for full papers (i.e., 9 papers) as well 4 papers submitted directly as short papers, 8 papers were accepted as short papers. In total, 197 authors of accepted papers represent 26 different countries spanning three continents, and all have been invited to present their work at CloudNet 2016.
