How to publish in this journal

Scope

Learning Disabilities: A Contemporary Journal (LDCJ) publishes research papers in the area of learning disabilities (LD) and related disorders. As an international scholarly outlet, we are mindful of the fact that the term LD is a very widely used, yet a very heterogeneously defined concept related to academic failure. Understanding of LD ranges from viewing it as a disorder that is characterized by at least average intelligence with isolated developmental delays in very specific areas (like reading, spelling, or arithmetic) to a condition that is basically identical with what is commonly known as mild mental retardation. We welcome all research papers that focus on children and youth who fail to meet the minimum requirements with regard to their academic progress as well as adults who continue to struggle to acquire knowledge and skills after finishing school. Thus, our conception leaves room for all definitions on LD that are common in various parts of the world. In order to avoid confusion, authors need to always specify their understanding of what constitutes LD in their paper. Join the conversation about this journal

SJR

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'.
