How to publish in this journal

Scope

The aim of the Journal of Development Effectiveness is to support evidence-based policy making to enhance development effectiveness. We do this by publishing high quality research that examines evidence of the impact of projects, programs and policies in developing countries, and discussions of experience in conducting impact evaluations and using their findings to inform policy and program design. Although we don’t favour any one methodology, the research we publish must apply rigorous evaluation techniques that address biases robustly. We have an interest in research which has been well contextualised with an appropriate use of mixed methods. Research reporting interventions with no, or a negative, impact is also welcome as we have an explicit policy of ‘learning from our mistakes’, discouraging publication bias in favour of positive results. The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

The chart shows the evolution of the average number of times documents published in a journal in the past two, three and four years have been cited in the current year. The two years line is equivalent to journal impact factor ™ (Thomson Reuters) metric.
