Scope

«Città e Storia» lavorerà nel cantiere della storia urbana; non sarà una rivista che propone un modello né tanto meno una «scuola», sarà un'impresa collettiva che si dovrà contraddistinguere per grande apertura culturale e disponibilità al confronto tra gli storici urbani e quanti, da diversi punti di vista, studiano la città. Il progetto della rivista non può quindi che essere orientato su un arco diacronico ampio, dal Medioevo all'età contemporanea, con una forte attenzione alla stratificazione urbana, alle radici della forma urbis e al ruolo dell'archeologia nello studio di molti centri urbani contemporanei. La scelta del titolo della rivista intende sia richiamare alcuni elementi ispiratori del progetto – e, in particolare, quello di una ricerca sulla città in tutta la sua affascinante complessità e, in sinergia con questo, quello di una storia a tutto campo, senza bisogno di aggettivi – sia ricollegarsi ad alcune esperienze maturate negli ultimi 4 anni prima con la pubblicazione dell'omonimo bollettino dell'AISU e poi, nell'estate del 2004, con l'uscita di una prima prova di stampa – il numero zero – in occasione del congresso AISU di Roma. L'attività editoriale sarà fondata su una programmazione di medio-lungo periodo ed organizzata per la produzione di fascicoli contraddistinti da un nucleo tematico dominante, al fine di proporre temi di ricerca e discussione e di consentire un coinvolgimento non casuale degli autori accogliendo o sollecitando contributi originali. Questo nucleo tematico costituirà, di regola, la parte caratterizzante di ogni fascicolo e sarà coordinato da uno o più curatori, anche esterni alla redazione. Questo orientamento è indispensabile per favorire la vitalità del periodico nel tempo, per valorizzare le competenze specialistiche ed assicurare un serio approccio multidisciplinare ai problemi.
Quartiles

The set of journals have been ranked according to their SJR and divided into four equal groups, four quartiles. Q1 (green) comprises the quarter of the journals with the highest values, Q2 (yellow) the second highest values, Q3 (orange) the third highest values and Q4 (red) the lowest values.

SJR

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

Citations per document

This indicator counts the number of citations received by documents from a journal and divides them by the total number of documents published in that journal. The chart shows the evolution of the average number of times documents published in a journal in the past two, three and four years have been cited in the current year. The two years line is equivalent to journal impact factor ™ (Thomson Reuters) metric.
