Scope

The «Archivio italiano per la storia della pietà» was founded in 1951 by Don. Giuseppe De Luca. It was conceived as a collection of texts not of a generically religious nature, but rather significant in terms of the encounter between man and God. In short, articles that make it possible to “look into the heart of man” to discern “his love or hatred of God”. The journal resumed publication in 1996, opening up to broader prospects, not restricted to those generically identifiable with the Catholic faith. It publishes essays that explore man’s relation with the Absolute, however this may be understood and however it may be manifested in human history: in monotheist religions and in the spiritual movements that developed in Asia, in the Americas or elsewhere from the earliest times up to the present.
