Scope

The Problemy Osobo Opasnykh Infektsii [Problems of Particularly Dangerous Infections] is a peer-reviewed scientific and practical journal issued since 1968. Its founder is Federal State Scientific Institution “Russian Research Anti-Plague Institute “Microbe”. Publication frequency is four issues per year (quarterly). Format – А4, volume – 100–110 broadsides. It is registered by the Federal Service for Surveillance in the Sphere of Communications, Mass Media and Information Technologies (Registration Certificate N ПИ №ФС77-74153). From 2001 the Journal is on the List of leading reviewed scientific journals and editions for publication of the main scientific results of dissertations for scientific degree of doctor and the candidate of science of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. In May, 2015, it is included in the New List of the Commission. The Journal presents works of leading scientists and experts from anti-plague and specialized institutions in Russia and CIS countries, as well as works of specialists in the sphere of practical healthcare. The papers deal with issues of epidemiology, microbiology, genetics, biotechnology, immunology, laboratory diagnostics and prophylaxis of particularly dangerous and natural-focal infections, as well as sanitary protection, biological safety, counter-bioterrorism. One of the Journal`s aims is to provide opportunity for publication of dissertational researches results. All papers are peer-reviewed. Editorial Council is represented by the leading specialists from Russia and abroad. Papers are published in Russian (papers in English are welcomed), abstracts, authors` information are translated into English, references (in Russian) are transliterated. Quartiles

The set of journals have been ranked according to their SJR and divided into four equal groups, four quartiles. Q1 (green) comprises the quarter of the journals with the highest values, Q2 (yellow) the second highest values, Q3 (orange) the third highest values and Q4 (red) the lowest values.

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.
