Scope

Korean Journal of English Language and Linguistics (KJELL) is one of the most prestigious academic journals of linguistics in Korea which has opened a new horizon for English linguistics research in the midst of the rapidly changing 4th Industrial Revolution era. The journal has been published by the Korean Association for the Study of English Language and Linguistics (KASELL), which was founded on May 8, 2000 with the aim of exploring the empirical aspects of English with its interest in English itself rather than pursuing abstract linguistic principles. Based on the academic foundation for English linguistics that has been steadily established since the introduction of the generative grammar in the 1960s, KJELL has played an important part in establishing the status of English linguistics in Korea in spite of its short history. KJELL is now recognized as the most prestigious academic journal of English language and linguistics in Korea. KJELL publishes professional academic research papers of high quality in all fields of English linguistics, including English history, grammar, phonetics, phonology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse analyses, and even applied linguistics (e.g., second language acquisition or English language teaching). KJELL has a couple of distinguishing features that make the journal distinctive from other linguistics journals in Korea. Join the conversation about this journal
