Scope

Open Ceramics is an official, peer-reviewed, open access journal of the European Ceramic Society and a companion title to its well-respected publication, Journal of the European Ceramic Society. Open Ceramics publishes the results of original research, as well as reviews and perspective articles relating to all classes of ceramic materials, from traditional to advanced ceramics, from glasses to refractories, from bioceramics to ceramic matrix composites. Research results focused on raw materials, powders, fibres, coatings, sintered components, porous or compacted bodies are all within the scope of the journal. Contributions dealing with scientific aspects or applied research and reporting experimental, theoretical and modelling approaches and new perspectives will be welcomed on a fully international basis. The emphasis is on emerging science or technological developments highlighting the relationships between processing, microstructure and properties of ceramics, glasses and other nonmetallic inorganic materials, as well as their synthesis, manufacture and applications. The central objective of this international journal is to provide a venue for the dissemination of high quality, novel research and technological developments in ceramic and inorganic materials, targeting a wide audience ranging from academia to industry. SJR

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

Citations per document

This indicator counts the number of citations received by documents from a journal and divides them by the total number of documents published in that journal. The chart shows the evolution of the average number of times documents published in a journal in the past two, three and four years have been cited in the current year. The two years line is equivalent to journal impact factor ™ (Thomson Reuters) metric.
