Scope

“ANAS Transactions, Earth Sciences” publishes process-oriented original and review papers covering the whole field of earth science including geography. The journal was previously published under the title “Proceedings of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Earth Sciences” and was established in 1958. The Journal’s official publisher is Geology and Geophysics Institute at Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS). “ANAS Transactions, Earth Sciences” publishes peer-reviewed research papers as well as significant review articles of general interest to geoscientists. All published papers in this journal have undergone rigorous review by at least two referees. It presents international and interdisciplinary original scientific contributions that describe and explain the evolution, structure, and deformation of Earth’s structure. “ANAS Transactions, Earth Sciences” has a distinguished editorial boardwith extensive academic qualifications, ensuring that the journal maintains high scientific status. Contributions are welcome from any relevant area of research, including field, laboratory and modeling studies. Multidisciplinary studies are particularly encouraged. “ANAS Transactions, Earth Sciences” welcomes studies across the range of the following fields: structural geology and tectonics; mineral deposits and hydrocarbons; mineralogy and petrology; geochemistry and petroleum engineering; mud volcanism; geophysics; modern geodynamics and space geodesy; seismology and seismic hazard and risk assessment; marine and continental ecosystems; physical and human geography; paleofloristics. The journal publishes papers in any of three languages: English, Azerbaijani or Russian. Manuscripts can be submitted by any Earth scientists including foreign authors. The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.
