Scope

Transitions aims to provide a platform that explores and investigates the complexities of transient migration and to map the experiences of the growing number of transient migrants as they engage and interact with communities that are linked both to their home and host nations. The journal seeks to look at the ways in which transient migration affects individuals and communities in this transitional yet significant period. Its scope includes, but is not limited to, themes of belonging, identity, networks, nation, culture, religion, race and ethnicity, gender and memory while incorporating the roles played by various platforms to facilitate these themes such as media, politics, policy, economy and the creative industries. Transitions is a space for path-breaking discussions on what migration means for future scenarios/developments of mobility. We are keen to feature papers that invite established and emerging scholars to think critically, creatively, experimentally and provocatively about where we stand with migration, transnationalism and mobilities. We are also open to new and emerging research methodologies which draw on/include data collected by unconventional research designs, mixed-methods approaches, digital research or visual ethnography. Articles are double-blind peer reviewed. Join the conversation about this journal
