Scope

Derbyana is a open access and peer-reviewed journal dedicated to Geosciences of the Environment Research Institute of the Secretariat for Infrastructure and Environment of the State of São Paulo, following the Revista do Instituto Geológico (ISSN 0100-929x, eISSN 2176-1892), Instituto Geológico, from 1980 to 2020. Derbyana aims at publishing original and unpublished, scientific and technological articles on Geosciences and related areas. This Journal also publishes review articles, maps and charts, short communications. commments and replies of articles. This Journal is edited anually and adopt the continuous and immediate publication of articles after their acceptance. The journal team is assisted by a permanent advisory body, formed by eminent Brazilian and foreign scientists, specialized in different areas of Geosciences. The name Derbyana is a tribute to Orville Adelbert Derby (1851-1915), one of the patrons of Geosciences in Brazil and director of the Comissão Geographica e Geologica do Estado de São Paulo, created in 1886. This commission carried out pioneering researches on soil , climate, geomorphology, geology and hydrography within the State of São Paulo, Brazil, and gave origin to several scientific institutions in the State of São Paulo, such as the Instituto Geologico, Instituto Florestal, and Instituto de Botânica, Instituto Geográfico e Cartográfico, Instituto de Astronomia, Geofísica e Ciências Atmosféricas, Museu Paulista e Museu de Geologia. The set of journals have been ranked according to their SJR and divided into four equal groups, four quartiles. Q1 (green) comprises the quarter of the journals with the highest values, Q2 (yellow) the second highest values, Q3 (orange) the third highest values and Q4 (red) the lowest values.

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

Citations per document
