How to publish in this journal

analysis@theeditorialhub.com

Scope

Analysis, which was founded in 1933, is the most established and esteemed journal for short papers in philosophy. We are happy to publish excellent short papers in any area of philosophy. Analysis is the most established and esteemed journal for short papers in philosophy. We are happy to publish excellent short papers in any area of philosophy. The absolute word limit is 4,000 words (including footnotes but excluding bibliography). Shorter papers will be preferred to longer papers, other things being equal. Because of the intense pressure on space, we have a policy of not publishing responses to papers that have appeared in other journals. Manuscripts are accepted for publication on the understanding that they have been submitted solely to Analysis and that they have not been previously published elsewhere either in whole or in part. Authors may not submit papers that are under consideration for publication elsewhere, and, if an author decides to offer a submitted paper to another journal, the paper must be withdrawn from Analysis before the new submission is made. We practise triple anonymity: the Editors and Associate Editors receive the submissions in anonymous form, as do referees, and authors are not informed of referees' identity. A large majority of submissions will be sent to referees. Our practice is to pass on referee reports to the author. The Analysis Trust is committed to implementing and maintaining the BPA/SWIP Good Practice Scheme for learned societies and journal editors. Further details of the Scheme can be found on the British Philosophical Association webpage. Once accepted, papers are usually published online within six weeks.
