Scope

The American Journal of Cardiovascular Drugs promotes rational therapy and effective patient management within the discipline of cardiology by providing a regular program of independent review articles covering all aspects of the management of cardiovascular disorders, particularly the place in therapy of newer and established agents and procedures. The journal includes: Short overviews of contentious or emerging issues (Current Opinions and Leading Articles, respectively). Comprehensive narrative reviews on therapeutic approaches to managing cardiovascular disease. Systematic reviews that collate empirical evidence to answer a specific research question, using explicit, systematic methods as outlined by the PRISMA statement. Therapy in practice reviews covering optimum management of specific conditions. Adis Drug Reviews of the properties and place in therapy of both newer and established drugs in cardiovascular medicine. Original research articles reporting the results of well-designed clinical studies, such as clinical pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic studies, clinical trials, meta-analyses, outcomes research, and pharmacoeconomic studies. Additional digital features (including animated abstracts, video abstracts, slide decks, audio slides, instructional videos, infographics, podcasts and animations) can be published with articles; these are designed to increase the visibility, readership and educational value of the journal’s content. In addition, articles published in the American Journal of Cardiovascular Drugs may be accompanied by plain language summaries to assist readers who have some knowledge of, but not in-depth expertise in, the area to understand important medical advances. Citations per document

This indicator counts the number of citations received by documents from a journal and divides them by the total number of documents published in that journal. The chart shows the evolution of the average number of times documents published in a journal in the past two, three and four years have been cited in the current year. The two years line is equivalent to journal impact factor ™ (Thomson Reuters) metric.
