How to publish in this journal

Scope

The Journal of Mathematical Imaging and Vision is a technical journal publishing important new developments in mathematical imaging. The journal publishes research articles, invited papers, and expository articles. Current developments in new image processing hardware, the advent of multisensor data fusion, and rapid advances in vision research have led to an explosive growth in the interdisciplinary field of imaging science. This growth has resulted in the development of highly sophisticated mathematical models and theories. The journal emphasizes the role of mathematics as a rigorous basis for imaging science. This provides a sound alternative to present journals in this area. Contributions are judged on the basis of mathematical content. Articles may be physically speculative but need to be mathematically sound. Emphasis is placed on innovative or established mathematical techniques applied to vision and imaging problems in a novel way, as well as new developments and problems in mathematics arising from these applications. The scope of the journal includes: computational models of vision; imaging algebra and mathematical morphology mathematical methods in reconstruction, compactification, and coding filter theory probabilistic, statistical, geometric, topological, and fractal techniques and models in imaging science inverse optics wave theory. Specific application areas of interest include, but are not limited to: all aspects of image formation and representation medical, biological, industrial, geophysical, astronomical and military imaging image analysis and image understanding parallel and distributed computing computer vision architecture design. SJR

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.

Citations per document

This indicator counts the number of citations received by documents from a journal and divides them by the total number of documents published in that journal. The chart shows the evolution of the average number of times documents published in a journal in the past two, three and four years have been cited in the current year. The two years line is equivalent to journal impact factor ™ (Thomson Reuters) metric.

Cites per Doc

Evolution of the number of total citation per document and external citation per document (i.e. journal self-citations removed) received by a journal's published documents during the three previous years. External citations are calculated by subtracting the number of self-citations from the total number of citations received by the journal’s documents.
