How to publish in this journal

Scope

Bijdragen tot de Taal-, Land- en Volkenkunde ( Journal of the Humanities and Social Sciences of Southeast Asia), now more than one-and-a-half century old, is an interdisciplinary journal on Southeast Asia, with a strong focus on Indonesia. The editors especially welcome articles from anthropology, history, political science, law, sociology, social geography, development studies, urban studies, literature, socio-linguistics, and economics. Articles requiring significant technical knowledge from our readers (e.g., some economic or linguistic studies) are considered more suited for a disciplinary journal and will not be accepted by the Bijdragen. Submissions about topical issues can be treated with high priority and ‘overtake’ articles brought to our attention earlier. This is a fully Open Access journal, which means that all articles are freely available online, ensuring maximum, worldwide dissemination of content, in exchange for an Article Publication Charge. As the journal receives a subvention for publication from the learned society Vereniging KITLV (NL) the Article Publication Charge is waived. SJR

The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is.
